I made my second blanket (the first was a Hello Kitty blanket for Eliza), and I'm so pleased with how it turned out! I made it for Emma's second birthday (my friend, LeeAnn's daughter), and I hope Emma enjoys it.

Here's what it looks like... SO easy...

It's a groovy print on one side (Eliza selected it herself) and a light banana yellow on the other side.

Those are so much fun to make. My girls like to help tie the fringe together. Sometimes you can get scarf kits at the craft or fabric store - they work on basically the same principle and make really cute wintertime gifts for cousins, school friends, etc.

It was quick and easy, and I'm going to make more for Christmas this year. If I catch the fabric on those great 50% off sales, I figure it's a reasonably inexpensive but groovy gift.

I don't know if you have JoAnn Fabrics in Florida, but they sell "kits" of coordinating fleece to make into these blankets. Last winter they were on sale for $4 each! My kids' girl scout troop made a bunch to donate to the homeless shelter. Happy creating!

I would LOVE to learn how to make them and make them for Christmas presents. Can you teach me? (Seriously.)

I actually bought that fabric at the JoAnn here in town. I'll be sure to look for the $4 sale! That would be great.

I'm still missing the Hobby Lobby stores we had in Louisiana, but I'm making do with the JoAnn and the Michael's.

And, Val, I'll tell you how to make them. They're WAY easy.

Hi Chel - responding to your comment on my "craft" post. I would love to learn to make the bracelets with the doll's names! What a cute idea.

Sorry, forgot to tell you to go ahead and email the info. about the bracelets to me, if you want. There's a link to my email right under my profile on my blog page. Thanks again!

Oh my gosh! You made it ! How cool! I just thought it was cute and cuddly! Now I love it even more! I did not know you made it! That makes it so much more special to us! You know me. I am so not crafty. I assumed you just got it somewhere. I should have known you did something cool like this. Emma has laid all over the house with it.

Well, sure I made it. :) I'm glad Emma likes it. Eliza picked out the material all by herself.
